What an amazing place to cycle! Fresh air, alpine views, Austrian village charm, exhilarating outrides, local cuisine and drinks, are just a few things that will awaken your senses. There are over 800 kilometres of cycling and mountain biking trails in the area. If you need a break or refreshments, there are numerous mountain huts and restaurants ready to welcome you.

The mountain bike festival, “KitzAlpBike”, has been held every year since 1996 and the mountains around Kitzbühel provide a stunning backdrop to the variety of competitions. As always, the highlight of the weekend is the KitzAlpBike Marathon on the Sunday and more than 1 000 mountain bikers make their annual journey here for this exhilarating weekend in the Kitzbühel Alps.

Hiking is by far the most popular sport in the mountains in the summer months. There are over 1000 km of well maintained and signposted trails varying in length and difficulty. With beautiful views of the Wilder Kaiser and the powerful rugged glacial peaks, the vistas are incredible. Wide green mountain slopes have numerous pastures and meadows with peaks on the highest parts, up to 2000 metres. The mountains are characterised by numerous mountain huts where hikers and mountain bikers are invited to rest and enjoy some Tyrolean cuisine.

A Visit to “The Kaiser” is always worthwhile. This famous mountain draws crowds throughout the year, and is particularly popular with hikers, climbers and ski mountaineers. The favourite climbs of the Tyrolean and Bavarian climbers are mostly on the routes of Totenkirchl, Fleischbank and the Predigtstuhl.
